Friday Night Rewind: Indiana high school running back Myles McLaughlin scores 10 TDs
For some, 10 touchdowns in a game is a nice season. For Knox High School (Ind.) running back Myles McLaughlin, it’s just another Friday night.
The senior rushed for nine touchdowns on 27 carries and passed for another, accumulated 439 rushing yard and 70 passing yards on 3-for-5 passing. He led Knox to a 72-24 victory.
This is the second game in a row in which McLaughlin has broken the 400-yard rushing mark, after going for 428 yards and five touchdowns on 30 carries on Aug. 29. It’s no surprise, then, that he leads the country in rushing yards with 1,057 through three games.
McLaughlin has been unstoppable throughout his career. As a freshman, he posted 1,579 yards and 26 touchdowns, and then shattered those marks with 2,584 rushing yards and 35 touchdowns as a sophomore. Last year, he had 2,830 yards — the 12th-most in the country — and 42 touchdowns.
Over his career, according to MaxPreps, he had 9,096 total yards.
McLaughlin posted game highlights to his Hudl page here:
247Sports does not list any offers, though it does state that he has some interest from five programs: Ball State, Indiana, Middle Tennessee, Purdue and Western Michigan.
As McLaughlin rises up the rushing leaderboard and looks for the 2025 yardage title, let’s see if more teams start paying attention.
