FSU basketball closes regular season with OT win over Wake Forest

Florida State women's basketball closed its regular season with a 77-74 overtime win over Wake Forest on Sunday, powered by a 49-39 rebounding advantage and four players in double figures.

With FSU without its leading scorer, Sole Williams, senior guard Sydney Bowles stepped up in the starting lineup. She led the Seminoles (10-20, 5-13 ACC) with 17 points and six rebounds, while Emma Risch added 13 points, three steals and seven boards. Allie Kubek and Jasmine Shavers each scored 11, with Shavers posting a career‑high six assists.

FSU used a 9-0 run in the second quarter to briefly take control, but Wake Forest (14-16, 4-14) forced overtime with a late layup to tie it 67-67. In the extra period, Shavers opened with a three, and the Seminoles sealed it at the free‑throw line, getting key makes from Bowles, Shavers, Amaya Bonner and Tatum Greene.

FSU’s bench added 28 points, and every Seminole scored and grabbed at least one rebound.

FSU heads next to Duluth, Ga., to face Georgia Tech in Wednesday’s opening round of the Ally ACC Women’s Basketball Tournament.
