Here's Where LSU Baseball Ranks After a Huge Series Win Over Arkansas

The LSU Tigers beat the Arkansas Razorbacks twice this weekend to capture a massive series win over a top-10 team.

The new D1 Baseball, Baseball America and RPI rankings are out, and the LSU Tigers have jumped at least a couple spots in all of them. This series win was a statement to the rest of the country that LSU is back in their groove and ready for postseason play.

D1 Baseball - 1

D1 Baseball has the Tigers leapfrogging the Texas Longhorns and Florida State Seminoles for the top spot in their rankings. They came into the week ranked third, but after Texas lost their series to Florida and FSU won two of three versus Cal, LSU took over the top spot.

Baseball America - 1

Baseball America had the Tigers ranked sixth coming into the week, but they made a massive jump to the top of their rankings after their series win over Arkansas. They surpassed the Georgia Bulldogs, Texas Longhorns, Arkansas Razorbacks, North Carolina Tar Heels and the Auburn Tigers for the top spot.

RPI - 7

Unlike the other two polls, the RPI uses a formula to calculate their rankings, and they have the Tigers ranked seventh in the country. They were ninth to start the week, and despite beating their fourth-ranked team twice, they could only climb two spots.

The Tigers now head into their final SEC series of the regular season as the No. 1 team in the country. Just a week ago when they lost two games to Texas A&M, many were questioning how good this team really is. This weekend proved that even though they had a bad weekend in College Station, they're still a very good team who will be a threat to win the national championship.
