The Michigan Wolverines exceeded expectations in year one of Dusty May's regime in Ann Arbor, culminating in a Sweet 16 appearance and Big Ten Tournament Championship.
The team was led by the big man duo of Vladislav Goldin and Danny Wolf, who both participated in May's NBA draft combine with varying results.
Wolf, known as the superior athlete of the two and the better outside shooter with more upside, participated in drills as he attempted to put on a show for NBA scouts and other team personnel in attendance.
Wolf showed surprising athleticism in some drills while ranking the bottom of his position group in others.
Wolf ranked best in the shuttle run, where his time of 2.91 seconds ranked in the top 20 players at all positions, just ahead of Duke superstar Cooper Flagg, who is expected to be taken first in the 2025 NBA draft.
His lane agility score of 11.26 placed him near the middle of the pack, a far cry from Flagg's eighth overall time of 10.64 seconds.
Wolf ranked near the bottom of all players with a three-quartercourt sprint time of 3.51 seconds, besting only his former teammate Goldin and Derik Queen of Maryland.
Wolf was third-to-last in standing vertical leap of 24 inches, ahead of only Lachlan Olbrich of Australia and Queen. His max vertical leap of 30 inches placed him fifth-to-last among all prospects, ahead of Chinese center Hansen Yang, Johni Broome, Queen and Serbian forward Bogolijub Markovic.
Wolf proved to be one of the biggest forwards among those measured at the combine, a positive sign for his draft prospects.
The Michigan forward/center measured 6-feet, 10 1/2 inches without shoes, third among all forwards. His wingspan was measured at 7-feet, 2.25 inches, ranking third among all forwards, just behind current Michigan player Yaxel Lendeborg.
Wolf's standing reach measured fourth among forwards at 9-feet, 1 inch.
With his versatile perimeter oriented game and flashy passing skills, Wolf is expected to be drafted in the first round after a strong season with May's team.
