Dusty May is one of the four coaches still standing tall in this year's NCAA Tournament. Figuratively speaking, though, not literally.

As one of college basketball's shortest coaches, the Michigan Wolverines coach has still found huge success during his coaching career. During the 2023 tournament, May led the Florida Atlantic University Owls to their first Final Four appearance in school history, and they were a buzzer-beater away from getting to the national championship game. This season, with Michigan, May led the team to their first Final Four appearance since the 2018 tournament.

Let's take a look at exactly how tall the Wolverines' coach is, and how he stacks up compared to his team.

How tall is Dusty May?

According to a 2023 CBS Sports article, when May was the head coach at FAU, he stands at around 5-foot-10 with shoes on.

May is often hidden by his players in the huddle, but the coach's height doesn't take anything aware from his large personality, as he has been a key piece to leading the Wolverines to their first Final Four appearance since the 2018 NCAA Tournament.

Dusty May height vs. Michigan roster

While the exact heights of Michigan's coaches aren't publicized, he appears to stand the shortest among his staff. This case remains the same regarding his Wolverine players.

The shortest Michigan player is sophomore guard Howard Eisely Jr., who stands at an even six feet tall, according to Michigan's official roster page. Junior guard Elliot Cadeau stands one inch above Eisely, at 6'1". Sophomore guard L.J. Cason is the third shortest Wolverine at 6'2".

Standing at the other end of the height hierarchy is junior center Aday Mara. The Spaniard stands at a whopping 7-foot-3 as the tallest Wolverine on this year's roster. Following the foreign height trend, fellow European center Malick Kordel is the second-tallest player on the team. The German stands at 7'2". Senior star Yaxel Lendeborg and sophomore forward Morez Johnson Jr. are tied as the third-tallest men on the team at 6'9".
