Michigan State hockey is officially back. Well, sort of.
The Spartans will unofficially open the 2025-26 season on Friday night in an exhibition matchup against Windsor from Munn Ice Arena in East Lansing, Mich. This will be one of two exhibition games Michigan State plays this season, with the other coming in January against the US National Team Development Program.
Michigan State comes into this season with high expectations once again. The Spartans were picked to win the Big Ten in the preseason coaches poll, and rank as the No. 3 team nationally in the preseason USCHO.com poll.
Michigan State will officially open the 2025-26 season next week in a two-game series against New Hampshire. Those games are scheduled for Thursday and Friday, with both being played at Munn Ice Arena.
