H.S. GIRLS BASKETBALL: Williams Valley and Schuylkill Haven lead the way in early District XI power rankings

The 2025-26 season is well underway, not just in the Schuylkill League but across District 11. So far, this season, multiple Schuylkill League teams are off to strong starts, and after one month of play, a handful of those teams are ranking high in the early District 11 power rankings.

Class 1A

In Class 1A, Schuylkill League representatives include Weatherly (2-4), ranked second, and Nativity (0-8), fourth. Leading Class 1A comfortably is Bethlehem Christian (5-2), while Susquehanna Community (1-3) ranks No. 3. Notre Dame Jr/Sr (0-7) comes in at No. 5, followed by MMI Prep (0-6), Salem Christian (1-3), and Lehigh Christian (0-5).

Class 2A

In Class 2A, Williams Valley leads the way with a 6-2 record; the Vikings have a strong lead on second-place Lincoln Leadership Academy (4-3). Marian Catholic comes in at No. 3 with a 4-3 record, Shenandoah Valley at No. 4 with a 4-5 mark through nine games, while Minersville (0-7) and Tri-Valley (1-4) are ranked fifth and sixth. Moravian Academy (0-8) is currently in eighth place.

Class 3A

The 13-team Class 3A is currently being led by a pair of Schuylkill League programs in Schuylkill Haven (6-1) and Mahanoy Area (6-1), respectively, while Executive Education Academy (4-1) is not too far behind in third-place. Pen Argyl (5-1), Pine Grove (7-3), and Notre Dame of Green Pond (5-3) sit in the four through six spots while Salisbury Township (6-3), Catasauqua (4-3), Northern Lehigh (5-5), and Lehigh Valley Academy (6-2) round out the top-10. The final three programs are MaST Community Charter School (3-3), Bristol (4-4), and Palisades (2-7).

Class 4A

Lehighton (8-0) is the leader in the Class 4A rankings, but North Schuylkill is not too far, sitting in second-place spot with a 6-0 record. Northwestern Lehigh (9-1), Palmerton (7-2), and Tamaqua (8-3) are ranked third, fourth, and fifth, respectively. Other Schuylkill League representatives include Blue Mountain (3-5), ranked seventh, and Panther Valley (3-5), ninth. Allentown Central Catholic (4-6) is currently the No. 6 team in the power rankings, while Wilson Area (5-3) is ranked eighth, Saucon Valley (2-6) is ranked tenth, and Jim Thorpe (0-8) is ranked 11th.

Class 5A

Pottsville is the lone Schuylkill League representative here, sitting at No. 4 with a 1-7 record. Bethlehem Catholic leads the way with a perfect 8-0 record, the only Class 5A team in District 11 with a winning record. The remaining rankings include Southern Lehigh (3-5), Pocono Mountain East (2-5), Bangor Area (1-8), Pleasant Valley (1-8), and East Stroudsburg North (0-10)

Class 6A

No Schuylkill League teams are in the 6A rankings. However, Emmaus (7-1) is the current leader in the classification, with Easton (7-2), Parkland (7-2), Dieruff (7-3), and Liberty (5-4) filling in the top five. Nazereth (5-4), Northampton (4-5), Pocono Mountain West (3-4), Whitehall (3-7), and Freedom (3-5) currently are ranked sixth through tenth, while roundingout the classification is currently Stroudsburg (5-6), East Stroudsburg – South (2-8), and William Allen (0-9).
