Indiana Fever reportedly signing Monique Billings in WNBA free agency

As Indiana continues to negotiate with the talent-filled WNBA free agency class, the Fever are reportedly signing former Golden State Valkyries forward Monique Billings, according to Forbes WNBA reporter Roberta Rodrigues.

Billings averaged 7.3 points on 44.7% shooting during her lone season in the Bay Area. The UCLA alum also averaged 4.5 rebounds per game in 26 games played and eight starts.

Per Rodrigues' report, Billings met with the New York Liberty during the WNBA's free agency negotiation period, but Billings opted for the chance to join the Fever.

In her eight-season WNBA career thus far, Billings has averaged 6.3 points and 5.6 rebounds per game on 44.5% field goal shooting and 75.6% free-throw shooting. Billings has played in 239 career WNBA regular-season games and started 66.

Adding to the benefits of the signing, Billings has prior playing experience alongside Caitlin Clark during their time together on Team USA.

If the reports are correct, the Fever would add a rim-runner and depth to their frontcourt options to pair alongside Clark.
