Injury report for Luka Doncic, Lakers on Saturday versus Warriors

On Tuesday against the Brooklyn Nets, the Los Angeles Lakers finally got Austin Reaves back from a gastrocnemius strain that had sidelined him for just over a month. In Thursday's game versus the Philadelphia 76ers, the star guard looked like his usual self again by going off for 35 points on 12-of-17 field-goal shooting.

It looked like the Lakers were able to start enjoying one of the few times this season they have been almost fully healthy. Alas, Luka Doncic injured his leg during the second quarter of Thursday's contest and didn't return.

He will not play on Saturday against the Golden State Warriors due to a left hamstring strain. Luke Kennard, the sharpshooting guard whom the Lakers traded for on Thursday, is questionable, and rookie forward Adou Thiero is still recovering from an MCL injury.

Los Angeles, however, is hopeful that Doncic's injury isn't a serious one, per ESPN.

"There was some optimism on Friday that Doncic is not dealing with a major issue with his hamstring, sources told ESPN," wrote Dave McMenamin.

Hamstring injuries are tricky to deal with, and even a minor one can take a while to heal. While each of the Lakers' next seven games will be at home, some of them will be difficult. They will host the defending NBA champion Oklahoma City Thunder on Monday and face the surging San Antonio Spurs the following evening.
