Didi Gregorious is taking part in the World Baseball Classic for the Netherlands.
It might surprise baseball fans who remember his days with the New York Yankees, because those days feel like a long time ago relative to the 2026 WBC.

But Gregorious hasn't let his baseball career end quite yet.

Is Didi Gregorious retired from MLB?
Gregorious is not retired from MLB, although he hasn't played in the majors since 2022 with the Philadelphia Phillies.
Since then, he played in the Mexican League, in Triple-A, and was a draft pick of Baseball United by the Arabia Wolves.
Gregorious is now 36 years old and has his career winding down, but this is a chance to represent one more time on the big stage.
Where is Didi Gregorious from?
Gregorious was born in the Netherlands and then grew up in Curacao.
Even being born in Curacao, which is part of The Kingdom of the Netherlands, would've been enough for eligibility for the WBC roster.
Gregorious has represented the Netherlands internationally before and is getting this chance to do it one more time before he eventually decides to hang up his cleats for good.
