The MetLife Stadium will host the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup Final between Chelsea and PSG. FIFA President Gianni Infantino has brought this new format to life and showcased this tournament idea to the President of the United States (POTUS), Donald Trump.

Infantino has been seen at the White House to promote the Club World Cup and the World Cup next year, with Trump intrigued to have both events in the U.S.

Many believed that the interactions between Infantino and Trump would end there at the White House, but new information confirms that the POTUS will be in attendance for the final of the Club World Cup.

Just before the FIFA Club World Cup Final, Infantino revealed that the POTUS will be attending the game at the MetLife Stadium. Trump did not attend any game throughout the tournament but will make it for the final according to the FIFA president.

Infantino goes on to say that Trump enjoys soccer and revealed an interesting detail that many did not expect.

Gianni Infantino: "President Trump will be at the final. He loves soccer. In his first term as President, there was a soccer goal in the White House garden. President Trump is the President of the US, one of the host countries for the World Cup, and he embraced immediately the Club World Cup as well. Events like these are huge events. You can’t stage tournaments like this without his support.”

With Trump set to arrive at the MetLife stadium for the Club World Cup Final, security measures are expected to be stricter. The Athletic reports that Secret Service officials will work with organizers to have a special route for Trump to travel to the stadium. Trump is expected to be protected by a pane of bulletproof glass – an added layer of protection in case pre-game screenings fail to detect a firearm.

Donald Trump has welcomed the Club World Cup and the World Cup to the United States. The POTUS has expressed how the sport of soccer is growing in the country and has had discussions with Infantino in the past.

The U.S. will host 60 matches out of 104 games in the 2026 World Cup next year, as Mexico and Canada will host the rest of the 44 games. The United States will have 11 host cities, including New York/New Jersey, Dallas, Los Angeles, and Miami.
