Jaguars finalizing Travis Hunter's playing time plan vs. Panthers

The Jacksonville Jaguars will finalize their playing time plan for Travis Hunter over the next 24 hours ahead of their Week 1 matchup with Carolina.

As has been the case since Hunter arrived in Jacksonville, the Jaguars will have a detailed plan for him, but they'll remain flexible as well--quick to adjust based on the game flow and in-game situations that take place.

"That's something that we just need to make sure we're aware of and keeping engaged as coaches to make sure that if he's getting a little lost or doesn't know what he is doing on a few things, well, maybe we need to reel it back a little and get him a rest here maybe for a second," Coen said via ESPN.

"Whatever it is, we've got to be flexible. But I thought he's done a really nice job of dedicating himself to the plan on both sides of the ball over the last few days, and he was flying around pretty good today."

Hunter has been a full participant at practice this week, but did miss time during the latter portion of training camp with an upper-body injury. As Coen noted on Monday, that missed time for any player is valuable, let alone a rookie.

In terms of snap counts over the summer, Hunter's playing time between receiver and cornerback was nearly identical. But throughout the offseason, he's had more overall time on task at wide receiver, the position where Coen believed more refinement was needed.

During the preseason game that we saw Hunter in, he was with the starting offense and played cornerback on the defense's second and third possessions.

On the Jaguars' depth chart, Hunter is with the starters at wideout and with the second team cornerbacks, along with Jarrian Jones, behind Tyson Campbell and Jourdan Lewis.
