Jarvis Brownlee disputes report of locker room issues after Titans trade in now deleted X post
Former Tennessee Titans cornerback Jarvis Brownlee Jr. denied — in a since-deleted social media post — a report that he had a history of causing problems in locker room, one day after he was traded to the New York Jets for a minimal return.
Brownlee was traded on Sept. 23 to the Jets in a move surprising not just that it happened but for the trade compensation — a pick swap, with the Titans trading Brownlee and a 2026 seventh-round pick for the Jets' 2026 sixth-round pick.
An AtoZ Sports report cited an unnamed scout describing Brownlee as a "crash out", among other descriptors, since entering college.
Brownlee quote-tweeted the story, denying that he "ever was a problem" in college or with the Titans.
"Aye bro stop putting (emoji) on here that's not facts… I never ever was a problem in Florida (State) nor Louisville nor the TITANS..." Brownlee posted on X, then later deleted. "I was one of the guys who brought energy into that building every single day (100 emoji). I bled red and blue so stop the false writing on me (please) thank you."
Brownlee led the Titans in tackles in the first two games of the season, playing 93% of the snaps. Brownlee also was flagged three times in the Week 1 loss to Denver as a part of a team total of 13 penalties overall. He popped up on the injury report with an ankle injury last week and missed the Sept. 21 game against Indianapolis.
The 2024 fifth-round pick from Louisville entered into the lineup as a rookie when the Titans secondary battled a rash of injuries and stayed on the field. Brownlee earned a reputation as a physical corner that had eight accepted penalties called on him as a rookie as well as the three in Week 1 this season.
Brownlee is in the second year of his four-year rookie deal.
