Jase Richardson, Michigan State basketball outduel Oregon 74-64 in Big Ten tournament
INDIANAPOLIS — Michigan State basketball and Oregon was a battle of two of the sport's hottest teams Friday.
The Spartans prevailed 74-64 over the Ducks in the Big Ten tournament quarterfinals at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
Jase Richardson scored a team-high 17 points for the 1-seed Spartans (27-5), and Coen Carr contributed 10 points and eight rebounds off the bench. Nate Bittle scored 22 for the 8-seed Ducks (24-9).
MSU dominated the glass, corralling 10 offensive rebounds, and used a 15-0 run in the second half to create separation after Oregon cut the 10-point halftime deficit one early.
MSU will play the winner of the next game, 4-seed UCLA against 5-seed Wisconsin on Saturday at 1 p.m.
