Jets HC Aaron Glenn plans to use every RB on the roster

The New York Jets will field a run-heavy offense this season. Starting running back Breece Hall is in a contract year and plans on having a career-best campaign. Sophomore Braelon Allen has been a hammer for Tanner Engstrand's offense at training camp. Isaiah Davis is the favorite to be RB3 on the 53-man roster, with a unique passing-down skill set.

Head coach Aaron Glenn also views dual-threat quarterback Justin Fields as an extension of the run game. Glenn recently discussed his planned approach to utilize his running backs. All three ball-carriers will have a role.

"We have three good running backs and I keep saying that," Glenn said Tuesday. "They all have different skill sets that we're going to utilize. And that does not mean I'm trading Breece [Hall]. I just love having three good guys. I wish I had more."

Hall is a three-down runner with passing-game capabilities. Allen is a throwback between-the-tackles back with power and contact balance. Davis is a speedy playmaker who thrives on passing downs and manufactured touches. Glenn and Engstrand have plans to get all three ball-carriers involved.

If the Jets could consistently run the football effectively in 2025, it would remove pressure from Fields as a quarterback and the passing attack.
