Jovantae Barnes to enter transfer portal. How it affects OU football depth chart

NORMAN — As expected, Oklahoma football running back Jovantae Barnes plans to enter the transfer portal, he announced Tuesday.

Barnes spent four seasons with the Sooners. He finished his career with 294 carries for 1,281 yards and 12 touchdowns.

Barnes last played against Auburn on Sept. 20 and coach Brent Venables said late in the season that he was in “good standing” with the team.

The Las Vegas native was injured during pregame ahead of the Texas game.

The transfer portal officially opens on Jan. 2 and will remain open until Jan. 16.
