Lamine Yamal is undisputedly the biggest player at Barcelona right now.

Donning the iconic number ten jersey previously worn by the legendary Lionel Messi, Yamal has been at the forefront of Barcelona’s dominance under Hansi Flick.

At the age of just 18, he has racked up as many as 46 goals and 50 assists in under 150 competitive matches.

However, despite his massive contribution, Yamal only earns a fraction of the salary earned by the biggest players in the world, including Real Madrid ace Kylian Mbappe.

Details about Yamal’s contract

A recent report from L’Equipe has revealed some key details about Yamal’s contract, which was renewed last summer.

It appears the Spaniard only earns half the salary compared to Mbappe, pocketing about €1.33 million per month.

This comes down to about €16 million per year, on a gross basis, meaning the net salary could be well under €10 million.

This is twice less than the salary earned by the likes of Mbappe and Vinicius Jr., two of Real Madrid’s biggest superstars.

However, there are several bonuses added to Yamal’s contract, which include the number of matches played and the number of goals scored.

The clauses also include trophies won, even including individual awards such as the Ballon d’Or.

All of this, when combined, could take Yamal’s salary to a net total of about €10 million, which still won’t make him one of the highest-paid players in the world.

Barcelona, therefore, are certainly lucky when it comes to the salary of one of the best players in world football at the moment.

However, it does mean the Catalans may soon need to renew Yamal’s contract yet again, as the club seeks to secure the long-term future of the Spanish international.
