The NBA Finals haven't finished, but the offseason is in full swing for the New York Knicks and Memphis Grizzlies. The Knicks are searching for their ned head coach after firing Tom Thibodeau on June 3, and the Grizzlies traded Desmond Bane to the Orlando Magic in a blockbuster deal on Sunday.
The two franchises had different fates this season, as the Grizzlies got swept in the first round by the Oklahoma City Thunder, while the Knicks made their first Eastern Conference Finals appearance in 25 years. However, they lost in six games to the Indiana Pacers, which led to Thibodeau's ouster.
Now, New York is considering replacing him with Memphis' former coach, via SNY's Ian Begley.
Taylor Jenkins will be the first head coaching candidate to interview with New York the week of Monday. The Grizzlies fired him in March after almost six calendar years with the team and only nine regular-season games remaining.
Knicks fans are excited about this development.

"Knicks finally in business….. I would LOVE this hiring," one person said.
"Hopefully Jenkins or [Johnnie] Bryant gets the Knicks job," another one said.
"A young coach who understands modern basketball. Knicks should hire him," another one said. "He is the best available. [Michael] Malone is Thibs 2.0. [Mike] Brown would be a distant 2nd option."
"This is the type of coach we need IMO," another one said.
"Hire him please," another one said.
"I think he gets the job and I like him a lot," another one said.
