Lakers fan sues LeBron James after spending more than $800 on tickets

A fan wants his money back after he says LeBron James duped him into buying expensive tickets when the Lakers star teased a major announcement earlier this week.

Lakers fan Andrew Garcia says he spent more than $800 on tickets after James on Monday posted a video on his social media saying that he'd reveal "the decision of all decisions."

Fans online speculated the big reveal would be James announcing his retirement from the NBA. ESPN reported ticket prices for the Lakers' final regular-season game in April skyrocketed after the video dropped.

Instead, the announcement ended up being an ad for Hennessy - the cognac brand James has partnered with for some time. The wording he used in that announcement mirrored how he announced that he was joining the Heat 15 years ago.

Garcia now says he is owed $865.66 over "fraud, deception and misrepresentation" for two tickets he bought.

James, 40, is the NBA's all-time scoring leader and is entering his 23rd season in the league.
