Lakers release injury report for Wednesday's game versus Spurs

The Los Angeles Lakers had a very depleted active roster when they faced the Portland Trail Blazers on Monday. In addition to being without LeBron James, Gabe Vincent, Maxi Kleber and Adou Thiero, they ruled out Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves prior to the opening tip.

Somehow, the Lakers were able to win by eight points by outworking the Trail Blazers and getting big performances from center Deandre Ayton and reserve guard Nick Smith Jr. They will now prepare to meet the upstart San Antonio Spurs, who have the second-best record in the Western Conference at 5-1 and a 21-year-old, 7-foot-4 monster named Victor Wembanyama.

Doncic is expected to return to action in Wednesday's game, while Reaves, who is dealing with a groin issue, is questionable. In addition, backup center Jaxson Hayes, who tweaked his ankle on Monday, is probable.

After facing the Spurs at home, L.A. will begin a five-game road trip on Saturday with a matchup against the Atlanta Hawks. While this road trip won't have a lot of difficult games, it will nonetheless be a test for the team, especially since James will, in all likelihood, not return until after it comes back home toward the middle of the month.
