Lane Kiffin highlights three LSU players with "ultra elite" skills
LSU football's roster is full of talented players with bright NFL futures. But head coach Lane Kiffin chose to highlight three with what Kiffin deemed "ultra elite" skills.
When speaking with reporters on Tuesday, Kiffin name-dropped TE Trey'Dez Green, OT Jordan Seaton, and S Ty Benefield.
"(Trey'Dez Green) is ultra elite okay, but so is his mindset, and that's really, really unique to have because they usually don't coincide," Kiffin said.
"Ty (Benefield) the safety has it, too, and Jordan (Seaton) seems to have it," Kiffin said.
Green is a returnee. He began his career in 2024 when Brian Kelly was LSU's head coach, and stuck with the Tigers through the transition to Kiffin. Green emerged as one of the SEC's top tight ends in 2025, and only figures to put up bigger numbers in Kiffin's offense.
Seaton and Benefield were members of Kiffin's highly-touted LSU transfer class.
Seaton was a five-star recruit who began his career at Colorado. Benefield hails from Boise State. Both were among the top-ranked transfers at their position.
"If you were a scout out there watching, you know those three guys would stand out from a skill set of ultra elite," Kiffin said.
LSU will continue spring practice over the next several weeks as Kiffin and the Tigers hope to build a College Football Playoff team in 2026.
