Le Classique under threat of postponement due to storms in Marseille

Sunday’s Classique between Marseille and Paris Saint-Germain is under threat of postponement due to the risk of thunderstorms in the city, according to a report from L’Équipe.

France’s Météo France, conditions are expected to deteriorate on Sunday evening, with heavy rain and violent storms forecast around kick-off. The LFP has not ruled out a postponement should the weather render the pitch unplayable or compromise spectator safety.As things stand, both clubs are preparing as planned, but a final decision could be taken only hours before the game depending on the evolution of the weather.The Classique will be the first meeting between the two sides since PSG’s historic Champions League triumph earlier this year.
