Local players well represented at 2025 Shrine Bowl

Apr. 9—JAMESTOWN — The 2025 Shrine Bowl will have plenty of representation from the Jamestown area when it kicks off on Saturday, June 21, at Mayville State University.

There are 19 players from the 10 area teams on the four rosters at the Class A or 9-man levels.

The region team with the most players represented was the defending 9-man state champion, New Rockford-Sheyenne-Maddock with five players. The five Rockets who will be playing in the game are Kage Walford, Carter Engebretson, Bennett Meier, Colton Green and Kailar Jacobson.

The 9-man runner-up, LaMoure/Litchville-Marion, had three players selected to the 9-man east roster — Cael Hebl, Owen Lesko and Brayan Karlgaard.

There are also three other teams with multiple selections — Harvey/Wells County, South Border and Linton/Hazelton-Moffit-Braddock-Strasburg-Zeeland.

Five regional players were named to the 9-man west roster — South Border's Cole Stock and Levi Buchholz, Linton/HMB-S-Z's Kashton Moser and Gentry Richter and Kidder County's Trey Silbernagel.

The two Harvey/Wells County Hornets named to the 11-man east roster are Kayl Sieg and Tallen Thorson. Hornets head coach Brett Dockter was named to Fargo Davies head coach Wayne Werremeyer's 11-man east coaching staff.

The Hornets are joined on the roster by Carrington's Josh Bickett and Oakes' Chris Titus.

The games will take place on June 21 with the 11-man game scheduled for 3 p.m. and the 9-man game starting at 6 p.m.
