LSU football offense lands five players on All-SEC coaches team
Five players from LSU football's offense earned recognition on the All-SEC coaches team.
Quarterback Garrett Nussmeier landed on the first team along with Barion Brown, who was listed as a return specialist. Wide receiver Aaron Anderson and running back Caden Durham are on the second team along with Zavion Thomas, who made the cut as an all-purpose player. Thomas also earned a third-team nod as a return specialist.
Heading into his second year as the starter, Nussmeier is under 4,000 passing yards away from becoming the program's all-time leading passer. He totaled 4,052 yards and 29 touchdowns in 2024.
Durham broke 1,000 all-purpose yards last year as a trust freshman and returns as the team's feature back. He's been integral in LSU's commitment to expanding the run game under offensive coordinator Joe Sloan. Anderson remains a constant in a retooled wide receiver room. He caught 61 passes for 874 yards and five touchdowns last year.
Rostered as a wide receiver, Thomas is on the watchlist for the Paul Hornung Award, given to college football's most versatile player. Between kick and punt returns, he accumulated 365 yards in 2023 and jumped to 993 all-purpose yards in 2024.
