The Tigers’ new look, which has been dubbed the “pearLZ,” was designed by team member Lexi Zeiss, who is also a former member of Team USA gymnastics.

After the leotards were unveiled, Zeiss commented, “SHE’S PERFECT! Dreams becoming reality.”

LSU, led by sophomore sensation Kailin Chio, enters the SEC Championships as the No. 2-ranked team in the country. The Tigers hold a Team National Qualifying Score (NQS) of 197.917, behind only Oklahoma, which holds a NQS of 197.963.

“The NQS Average is calculated by using a maximum of 5 home meets, dropping the high and low scores, and averaging the remaining scores,” the official rankings page says. “For individuals, the score is calculated by taking the six best regular-season meet scores, of which three must be away. To obtain the national qualifying score (NQS), the high score is eliminated, and the remaining five scores are averaged.”

The 2026 SEC gymnastics championships take place on Saturday, March 21. LSU is participating in Session II, which kicks off at 7:00 p.m. ET, alongside the Oklahoma Sooners, Alabama Crimson Tide, and Florida Gators.
