Madden 26 ratings show Terry McLaurin respect

Washington Commanders wide receiver Terry McLaurin has been all over the news since he showed up to training camp without a new contract in hand. He's not practicing and is on the PUP list, but he is present in the locker room and bonding with his teammates while continuing to work out a deal with the team he's been loyal to since he was drafted in 2019.

It's not that the Commanders don't want to get a deal done; it's that the two sides are far apart and are having trouble making headway. And if GM Adam Peters needed any additional incentive to make sure McLaurin wears burgundy and gold beyond this fall, he is among the highest-ranked wide receivers in EA Sports' Madden NFL 26.

With that ranking and the fact that D.K. Metcalf isn't on that list, Peters should have a better understanding of why McLaurin wants as much money as he's asking for. At McLaurin's age, though, the receiver needs to understand that he's going to have to come down a bit.

As far as the other Commanders' receivers, the rankings are as follows:

  • Deebo Samuel - 84
  • Noah Brown - 77
  • Michael Gallup - 76
  • Jaylin Lane - 72
  • K.J. Osborn - 72
  • Luke McCaffrey - 70

There's a pretty decent gap between McLaurin and the rest of the receivers. Even though it's only Madden ratings, it's another reason to convince the Commanders that they need to get McLaurin's extension done sooner rather than later.
