Maple Leafs Reveal Big Injury Update on Anthony Stolarz Entering Game 7

The Toronto Maple Leafs will be hosting Game 7 of their second-round playoff series against the Florida Panthers. After grabbing a gritty win in Game 6, the Maple Leafs kept their season alive, giving them a chance to advance to the Eastern Conference Final.

Toronto has been playing much of this series without starting goalie Anthony Stolarz. Stolarz exited Game 1 against Florida on a stretcher after suffering a scary injury in a collision with Panthers center San Bennett.

The Maple Leafs have been relying on backup goalie Joseph Woll, and he has been a mixed bag throughout. Entering Game 7, there was a slim amount of hope that Stolarz could return to the ice.

But it seems that the goalie will not be available to play. Stolarz wasn't part of the Maple Leafs morning skate, signalling his status for the win-or-go-home contest.

It seems that if Stolarz is going to return to the ice this season, Toronto will need to advance to the next round. The Maple Leafs will be relying on Woll once again, and if he can put together another strong game, they will have a chance.

Woll was great in Game 6, shutting out the Panthers on the road. But in Game 5, he allowed five goals on 25 shots, seeing the team completely falter at home.

While the team would love to have Stolarz back, Woll has given them confidence entering this game. Toronto will be looking to him to set the tone early on and help limit the Panthers' scoring chances throughout the game.
