Marcus Sasser injury update: Detroit Pistons guard out another four weeks with hip injury
PHILADELPHIA — Marcus Sasser will be re-evaluated in four weeks as he continues rehabbing a right hip impingement, the Detroit Pistons announced Saturday, Nov. 8.
The third-year guard appeared in two preseason games but hasn't played since, due to his nagging injury. He averaged 6.6 points and 2.3 assists per game last season while knocking down 38.2% of his 3-pointers, and was lined up for a role as the Pistons await the return of Jaden Ivey. Instead, Sasser will be out at least through the rest of November.
Ivey, who is recovering from arthroscopic surgery on his right knee, is still two weeks away from his re-evaluation date. The Pistons have managed to win without the guard duo, improving to 7-2 overall following Friday's 125-107 win over the Brooklyn Nets.
