Marlon Humphrey sees endless options for Ravens' secondary after Jaire Alexander signing

The Ravens got better on Wednesday, adding depth and bravado to the cornerback position after the team signed former Packers star Jaire Alexander to a one-year, $4 million deal. The addition gives Baltimore a dynamic trio of Humphrey, Alexander, and second-year star Nate Wiggins. With rookie Malaki Starks and All-Pro Kyle Hamilton at the safety positions, the Ravens have elite versatility and athleticism in key positions.

The move gives Baltimore an advantage, and as Humphrey said, adding the two-time Pro Bowl cornerback provides the defense with endless options.

“It’s going to be a fun secondary.”

“A quote that’s never been said and probably never will be said in NFL history is we got too many corners that can cover,” Humphrey said, adding the two had talked last year about the possibility of teaming up. “That’s a great problem to have.”

Alexander, 28, has missed at least 10 games in three of the past four seasons, playing in just seven games in 2024 due to quadriceps and knee injuries.

Still, despite appearing in only seven games last season, Alexander finished second on the team in pass breakups (seven) and tied for second in interceptions (two). Alexander's most recent dominant season came in 2022, when he recorded five interceptions and 14 pass breakups in 16 games. In 2019, he had 17 pass breakups and two interceptions in 16 games.
