Better to be safe than sorry …

Following UFC Seattle last night (Sat., March 28, 2026) inside Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle, Washington, promotion officials confirmed to MMAmania.com that three fighters were transported to a local hospital for precautionary reasons after sustaining significant damage in their respective bouts.

The fighters were Maycee Barber, Ignacio Bahamondes, and Ricky Simon.

Barber (15-3) was transported for precautionary CT scans of her head and face following a brutal stoppage loss to Alexa Grasso. The sequence saw Barber knocked out and quickly submitted, literally seconds later, leaving her unconscious on the canvas for several seconds (watch highlights).

The loss snaps Barber’s impressive seven-fight win streak — which included victories over Katlyn Cerminara, Amanda Ribas, and Karine Silva — and likely halts her momentum in the title picture. She now falls to 0-2 against Grasso.

Bahamondes (17-7) was also taken to the hospital for precautionary scans following a three-round war with Tofiq Musayev. Despite losing a unanimous decision, the bout earned “Fight of the Night” honors.

The 28-year-old Chilean has now dropped back-to-back fights for the first time in his career — both coming against fighters from Azerbaijan. Prior to that stretch, Bahamondes had scored three straight first-round finishes over Jalin Turner (watch highlights), Manuel Torres, and Christos Giagos.

Finally, Simon (22-7-1) was also transported for precautionary CT scans after a grueling three-round battle with Adrian Yanez, which ended in a controversial draw.

Prior to that result, Simon went 2-1 in 2025, including a highlight-reel knockout win at the previous UFC Seattle event (watch highlights) after enduring a three-fight skid between 2023 and 2024.

At this time, the results of both fighters’ scans have not been disclosed.

It is normal for UFC to transport fighters to the hospital for precautionary reasons, especially if the fighters are involved in three-round battles that are full of damage or after suffering nasty knockouts.
