Nate Diaz bails on UFC, meets Mike Perry on Rousey-Carano Netflix card

Another major name in MMA will return to the cage this summer – and like other recent big announcements, it won't be in the UFC.

Nate Diaz, who hasn't fought since a submission of Tony Ferguson in September 2022, is set to meet fellow former UFC welterweight Mike Perry in June. They'll fight on the first MMA card in the history of MVP Promotions, which is headed by Jake Paul. MVP announced the new booking Monday.

That show, set for June 14 at Intuit Dome in Inglewood, Calif., just outside Los Angeles, will be headlined by the return of Ronda Rousey against Gina Carano – a massive coup for MVP, considering Paul has been a thorn in the side of UFC CEO Dana White over fighter pay.

But if that wasn't enough, MVP also managed to get Francis Ngannou out of his deal with the PFL to return to MMA against Philipe Lins. And now Diaz and Perry, two swing-for-the-fences fighters covered in battle scars, have joined the party.
