Nebraska linebacker Maverick Noonan intends to enter transfer portal
Another Husker announced their plan to enter the transfer portal. Sophomore linebacker Maverick Noonan released a statement regarding his decision to transfer. The portal officially opens on Jan. 2, 2026.
Noonan committed to Nebraska in 2022 and played in six total games for the Huskers across the last two seasons after redshirting in 2023 following a knee injury. He tallied two tackles, one tackle for loss and one fumble recovery during his tenure at Nebraska.
The Omaha, Nebraska, native stands at 6-4, 245 pounds and entered the collegiate level after becoming one of the top defenders in the state. In his final two seasons at Elkhorn South, Noonan earned spots on the Omaha World-Herald All-Nebraska first team and the Lincoln Journal Star Super-State first team. He also led the Storm in tackles in his senior year and totaled nine sacks and 17 tackles for loss.
He will enter the portal with two years of eligibility left.
