New footage of Steelers’ DK Metcalf, Lions fan altercation emerges

New footage of the physical confrontation between Pittsburgh Steelers WR DK Metcalf and Detroit Lions fan Ryan Kennedy has emerged, giving viewers another perspective on the wild Week 16 encounter.

In the video provided by Instagram user keiffer_kennedy, made available on X via Preme Football, a fan can be heard calling Metcalf by his legal name, Dekaylin. Another spectator can be heard laughing at the encounter that is about to ensue when Metcalf approaches Kennedy and the physicality follows.

The fan involved in the DK Metcalf incident has issued a statement through his attorney, denying accusations that he used racial slurs or misogynistic language.

Following the Week 16 matchup between the Steelers and the Lions, former NFL wide receiver Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson claimed that a racial slur was used to trigger Metcalf, as well as disrespectful and profane language targeted at the wide receiver’s mother — allegations that Kennedy and his legal team have denied.

Kennedy told the Detroit Free Press that he simply called Metcalf by his legal name — DeKaylin Zecharius Metcalf — which led to the ensuing altercation.

The NFL suspended Metcalf for two games following his decision to put hands on a fan, leaving Pittsburgh without its top wideout to close out the regular season.
