New York Giants to host USC WR Makai Lemon for a top-30 visit

The New York Giants are hosting USC wide receiver Makai Lemon for a top-30 pre-draft visit, reports NFL draft analyst Ryan Fowler.

This in-person meeting at the team's facility represents a deeper evaluation of Lemon as the Giants prepare for the 2026 NFL draft.

Lemon, a standout from the USC Trojans, previously met with the Giants during the 2026 NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis last month. At the time, he expressed a strong interest in joining the team, calling the opportunity to play alongside their young talent "a huge blessing."

He highlighted the appeal of contributing to a youthful core featuring players like Malik Nabers.

A former five-star high school recruit from California, Lemon enjoyed a breakout junior season in 2025, winning the Fred Biletnikoff Award as the nation's top wide receiver, earning unanimous All-American honors, and securing first-team All-Big Ten recognition.

Over three years at USC, Lemon amassed 137 receptions for 2,008 yards and 14 touchdowns, showcasing reliable hands, route-running polish, and versatility that included some rushing and special teams contributions.

Scouting report from NFL Network's Lance Zierlein:

High-skill, high-volume slot receiver with average size but extraordinary ball skills. Lemon has room for refinement, but not much. He’s intelligent, confident and polished with the ability to make plays on all three levels. Tempo-driven route-runner who misdirects man coverage and separates out of turns but is fairly average after the catch. Quicker than fast, featuring early acceleration to open seam throws but flashes late burst when needed. More play strength is needed for NFL press and he needs to avoid rushing through multi-breaking routes. He’s an exceptional ball-tracker with excellent catch timing and few focus drops. He wins more combat catches than he loses. Lemon is a plug-and-play, quarterback-friendly talent with first-round value and Pro Bowl upside.

At 5-foot-11 and 195 pounds, Lemon declared for the 2026 draft in December 2025 and is viewed as a potential fit for the Giants, who may seek to bolster their receiving options, especially after losing Wan'Dale Robinson to the Tennessee Titans.
