NFC executive rips New York Giants offseason moves

As the NFL heads toward the 2026 NFL Draft, teams are reviewing their roster plans and finalizing their draft boards. Many teams have added fresh talent and new faces in key leadership positions.
The New York Giants hired a new head coach, John Harbaugh, and made a number of moves in free agency. By all accounts, the Giants appear poised to be competitive heading into the NFL Draft.

Not everyone agrees, however. Some NFC executives spoke to The Athletic and offered mixed feedback. One, in particular, blasted the team.
Not buying in?
The first NFC executive praised several of the moves the Giants made to support their young quarterback, Jaxson Dart.
That executive’s only critique was that he expects the Giants to add to the receiver room in the draft. Behind Malik Nabers, who is recovering from an ACL injury, there isn’t much proven depth.
The other NFC executive, however, ripped into their offseason. He first praised the acquisition of Isaiah Likely, then let The Athletic know how he felt overall.

“I’ve never been a huge fan of [Tremaine] Edmunds. We were looking at linebackers, and that was not someone we spent a lot of time on,” the NFL executive said. Perhaps the conclusion of his statement raised the most eyebrows.
“Nothing they did really scares you.” They said. While the Giants were never expected to become contenders overnight, is this NFC executive’s assessment correct?
The Giants did acquire an excellent head coach who had a lot of success with the Baltimore Ravens. They also added fresh talent throughout the roster and appear to have a clear vision in place.
Perhaps outlooks will shift once the NFL Draft concludes. For now, the Giants are not winning over their peers in the NFC
