NFL experts predict winner of Colts vs. Broncos Week 2 game

The 1-0 Indianapolis Colts are again at home for Week 2 of the NFL season and will be taking on the 1-0 Denver Broncos.

The Colts' offense could hardly be stopped by Miami in the season opener, scoring on all seven of their possessions. However, this week, a very stingy Denver defense awaits.

Helping to put the offense in positions to succeed in Week 1 was the Lou Anarumo-led defense that generated three takeaways and allowed just eight points and 4.6 yards per play.

Can the Colts get to 2-0 to start the season? Let's see who the experts are picking.

Only Brooke Cerosimo is bullish on the Colts in this matchup. The other four expert predictors for NFL.com chose the Broncos to win.

Here is a look at why Gennaro Felice believes the Broncos will win this game.

"That's the thing about Week 1: It's often a liar. And the truth comes out in Week 2. As someone who predicted in late August that Denver would end Kansas City's eternal reign over the AFC West, I remain quite bullish on Sean Payton's well-rounded club."

USA Today

Another set of predictions that heavily favors the Broncos. Of the six USA Today staff members making picks, five of them are choosing Denver to win by anywhere from four to eight points.

ESPN

Six of ESPN's eight experts are picking the Denver Broncos to win. As good as the Colts' offense looked in Week 1, they'll face a much greater test against the Denver defense.

Bleacher Report

Just two of Bleacher Report's staff members are picking the Colts. However, here is why Brent Sobleski believes Indianapolis can win this game.

"A step back or two should be expected. At the same time, the Broncos offense didn't exactly click in its debut, either. With a more aggressive defense under the direction of Lou Anarumo, Denver quarterback Bo Nix could continue to struggle and give the Colts an advantage."
