NFL Films shares video of Christian Elliss consoling brother after loss

Championship dreams, realized or not, always bring out raw emotion for either team; elation for the victors, heartbreak for the ones going home.

For one Denver Bronco and one New England Patriot, the AFC Championship was a chance for two brothers, Christian (Patriots) and Jonah Elliss (Broncos), to play against each other for the first time in their careers.

The brothers both played well in the game; Christian finished with four tackles (two solo, two assisted), one sack and one tackle for loss, while Jonah finished with three total tackles (two solo, one assisted) and one tackle for loss.

After the game, NFL Films caught the Elliss brothers in an embrace, as Christian consoled Jonah. Jonah cried into his brother's shoulder as Christian spoke something to him. You can view the clip below.

Jonah is one of four brothers playing in the NFL right now, and one of 12 Elliss siblings in total. "It’s a huge blessing for our family," Christian said in the week leading up to the AFC title game. "You know, one of us is going to the Super Bowl one way or the other. So we’re very excited."

Jonah is headed home until the Broncos reconvene for offseason activities in April, but Christian is headed to the Super Bowl. Such is life in the NFL.

Now, the question is, will Jonah root for his brother (who knocked him out of the playoffs!) in the Super Bowl?
