NFL Hall of Famer believes Brock Purdy is playing his best football

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy has been tested this season, as a toe injury cost him eight starts and forced him to watch Mac Jones run his offense and lead his team to a 5-3 record.

However, since Purdy returned from his injury, the 49ers are 4-0, while he's completed 69.2% of his passes for 856 yards, eight touchdowns and three interceptions. He's also run for an additional 57 yards and a touchdown.

With that, NFL Hall of Famer and Monday Night Football broadcaster Troy Aikman believes Purdy's never been better.

“I think he’s playing his best football right now," Aikman said on "NFL Live" this week. "What I’ve seen without a running game is he’s had to create a lot with his legs, and he’s done a good job of that. He’s a real weapon. He’s a much better athlete than he gets credit for. I like his moxie. He’s extremely confident. That, at times, creates a lot of big plays for him, and then sometimes it gets him in trouble. But you want a guy like that at quarterback, especially within this offense.”

San Francisco hasn't exactly had the most difficult schedule over the last four games, but Purdy has played well (except for the three-interception performance against the Carolina Panthers). He'll have to be even better in the final three weeks and into the playoffs if the 49ers want to make a run.
