Notre Dame lands commitment from 4-star RB Lathan Whisenton
Marcus Freeman and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish picked up a solid piece in the 2027 recruiting class on Wednesday night.
According to On3's Hayes Fawcett, 4-star running back Lathan Whisenton has announced his commitment to Notre Dame, choosing the Fighting Irish over the Florida Gators and Texas Tech Red Raiders. Whisenton is rated by the 247Sports Composite as the No. 299 player in the class, and the No. 19 overall running back.
Standing at 5-foot-11, 195 pounds, Whisenton comes from Waco, Texas.
Despite his commitment, Whisenton still has several official visits lined up with schools like the SMU Mustangs, Gators, Baylor Bears, Texas Longhorns, and Texas Tech Red Raiders. Whisenton may or may not choose to still go on those visits.
With this commitment, Notre Dame now has the No. 4-ranked class in the 2027 cycle, with eight commitments. Their class is headlined by 4-star CB Xavier Hasan and 4-star OT James Halter.
