Notre Dame may have fallen short in its unlikely run for the national championship last season, but it heads into 2025 with a roster brimming with talent.

That includes wide receiver Malachi Fields, who was named to the 2025 Biletnikoff Award Watch List, the award for the nation’s most outstanding college football receiver. It is the second consecutive season that Fields was named to the list, and the program shared some praise for the accomplishment.

The Fighting Irish took to X to share a three-word post about Fields.

"Elite wide out," the post read.

As the university noted in its announcement about Fields, the receiver is tied for seventh in the nation among FBS players for consecutive games with a reception. Fields has appeared in 36 games in his college career, making 129 receptions for 1,849 yards and 11 touchdowns.

Fields is not the only player on Notre Dame earning some preseason love. Running back Jeremiyah Love and cornerback Leonard Moore were honored by The Sporting News as preseason first-team All-American players.

The outlet noted that Love is coming off a breakout season where he rushed for 1,125 yards and 17 touchdowns, adding 28 receptions for 237 yards.

"But it goes beyond the numbers," the outlet noted. "He had 24 runs of 10 yards or more on 163 carries according to PFF.com – a percentage of 14.7% that could translate to huge numbers with a full workload. Love averages 6.9 yards per carry, and he never had more than 16 carries in a single game last season. We think he will handle the increased workload with great success.”
