Oklahoma Sooners beat Tulsa 12-1 behind Ella Parker 2 home runs
The Oklahoma Sooners moved to 25-2 on the season with a 12-1 win over Tulsa in their final nonconference game before SEC play begins. It was Oklahoma's 13th win in a row and 20th run-rule win of the season.
Freshman Allyssa Parker got the start in the circle and threw three innings of one-run ball. She allowed three hits and two walks in the outing but moved to 3-0 on the season.
Kai Minor led off the Sooners' first at bat with a single and stole second to get into scoring position for the top of the order. Ella Parker was hit by a pitch, and Kasidi Pickering, batting from the three spot, drove in Minor on a single. One batter later, Gabbie Garcia hit an opposite-field three-run home run to give the Sooners a 4-0 lead. It was Garcia's 12th home run of the season.
Three batters later, Ailana Agbayani hit a two-run home run to put the Sooners up 6-0 in the bottom of the first. It was Agbayani's fifth home run of the season after having just four during the 2025 campaign.
Tulsa cut into the lead in the top of the second on an RBI single from Madison Garcia. But Ella Parker answered in the bottom of the inning with a two-run home run to make it 8-1 Sooners in the second.
Parker allowed a one-out double in the top of the third, but was able to keep Tulsa from cutting into the lead. Ella Parker went back to work in the bottom half of the inning, hitting her second home run of the game and 13th of the season, a three-run shot into the wind to put Oklahoma up 11-1 and put the game into run-rule territory.
Kierston Deal worked a 1-2-3 in the fourth. It was her first appearance without allowing a hit or walk in 2026. Perhaps a strong sign of what's to come. Lexi McDaniel added to the Sooners lead in the bottom of the fourth inning with a solo shot to put Oklahoma up 11. It was the true freshman's eighth home run of the season.
The Sooners added five more home runs to their NCAA-leading total, which now sits at 108. The Sooners are averaging an incredible four home runs per game. Oklahoma is scheduled to play 55 games in the regular season and will likely play closer to 65 through the SEC and NCAA tournaments. To break the single-season home run record Oklahoma would need to hit another 52 home runs. That means they'd need to average 1.85 home runs over the remainder of the regular season to break the record or 1.36 home runs per game if they play at least 65 games this season.
