Ole Miss softball wins first 2026 SEC game at Tennessee

No. 4 Tennessee (29-4, 6-4 SEC) opened a three-game Southeastern Conference softball series on Friday. Ole Miss (22-14, 1-9 SEC) defeated the Lady Vols, 2-1, at Sherri Parker Lee Stadium.

Ole Miss won its first game in Knoxville since 2008.

Sage Mardjetko started for the Lady Vols and pitched seven innings. She recorded 12 strikeouts and 108 pitches, including 74 strikes, against 28 batters.

Tennessee's offense recorded three hits in the series opener versus Ole Miss. Emma Clarke, Sophia Knight and Alannah Leach hit one single each for the Lady Vols.

First pitch for Game 2 between Tennessee and Ole Miss on Saturday is scheduled for 2 p.m. EDT, while a series finale is slated for 1:30 p.m. EDT on March 29. Both contests can be watched on SEC Network+.

Tennessee has won 23-of-27 softball series since 2023, including nine sweeps.

The Lady Vols are ranked No. 4 and are receiving one first-place vote in the NFCA/GoRout Division I Top 25 Coaches Poll.
