Arriving on the final day of the transfer window at Olympique de Marseille, Nayef Aguerd could make his much-anticipated debut as early as this Friday, September 12, 2025, against Lorient.
The Moroccan international defender (56 caps, 2 goals) joined his new squad on Wednesday, right after the end of the international break.
Barely arrived, he immediately got down to work under the guidance of Roberto De Zerbi, preparing for the Ligue 1 Matchday 4 clash with Les Merlus.
According to L’Equipe, the Italian tactician is expected to rely on the Atlas Lion in defense for the upcoming fixture, aiming to bring more stability to a backline that has already conceded 4 goals in 3 games.
The same goes for Benjamin Pavard, who is also tipped to start on the right flank despite just joining the team.
Nayef Aguerd left the Hammers after making 61 appearances (4 goals, 1 assist). He has also worn the colors of FUS Rabat, Dijon, Rennes, and Real Sociedad during his illustrious career.
