On3 puts two Iowa football standouts among top 100 players for 2026

Sure, the Iowa Hawkeyes are losing production and talent from the 2025 roster. With a program like Iowa, that is bound to happen. They pump out talent each year and have proven to be one of the best developmental programs in the country.

That is exactly why the 2026 roster is already shaping up to feature some more standouts who have the potential to blossom into stars, or in some cases, are already becoming stars and could enter the next stratosphere.

In On3's list of the top 100 college football players entering the 2026 season, the Hawkeyes see two representatives cracking the rankings. Coming in at No. 51 is offensive tackle Trevor Lauck, followed by up-and-coming defensive back Zach Lutmer at No. 54.

Lauck, a 6-foot-5, 310-pound mountain of a man, will enter his third year with the Hawkeyes. In two previous seasons, the Indianapolis, Indiana, native from Roncalli High School has appeared in 16 games. He started at left tackle during the 2025 season and provided great stability to the one question mark Iowa had among the offenisve line entering the season.

Zach Lutmer, the Iowa native from Central Lyon High School and Rock Rapids, Iowa, made his way onto the scene with a strong 2025 that saw him flash excellence and show potential that he could be Iowa's next great defensive back. This season, Lutmer started all 13 games, registering 71 tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss, a sack, 10 pass deflections, and three interceptions.
