OU football lands four-star cornerback Mikhail McCreary in 2027 recruiting class

OU football landed its first defensive commitment of the 2027 recruiting class.

Four-star cornerback Mikhail McCreary pledged to the Sooners just weeks after visiting during the Michigan game. The 6-foot-1, 175-pound defender from San Antonio chose OU over SMU, Texas A&M, Texas Tech and others.

McCreary is the Sooners' third blue-chip 2027 commit in the past four days.

OU general manager Jim Nagy has landed five-star offensive tackle Cooper Hackett, four-star offensive tackle Kaeden Penny and four-star athlete Demare Dezeurn this month. Three-star offensive tackle Luke Wilson is also a member of the 2027 class.

McCreary visited the Red Raiders on Sept. 13 and was thought to be down to the Sooners and Texas Tech. Other schools in his final eight included Arkansas, Houston, Vanderbilt and Wisconsin.
