OUT COLD! Grasso Flatlines Barber In First-Round Shocker

Alexa Grasso vs. Maycee Barber squared off earlier tonight (Sat., Mar. 28, 2026) at UFC Seattle LIVE on Paramount+ from inside Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle, Washington. In a shocking finish, Grasso knocked Barber out cold in the very first round and still managed to wrap up a rear naked choke before the referee could intervene.

Barber was aggressive from the first bell. Operating from the Southpaw stance, Barber pressed forward behind combinations. Grasso was content to work from the outside, using her hands to set up low kicks. Before too long, both women were exchanging high-power punches and just barely missing. Barber continued to play with fire by trading in the pocket with the boxer.

It backfired! As Barber stepped forward, Grasso lit her up with a perfect left hand down the middle. Barber hit the canvas in a bad way, and Grasso’s follow up punch put her completely out. Even so, Grasso spun around and locked in a rear naked choke before anybody really knew what happened.

That’s a hell of a return to the win column for the former champion! It’s important to remember that though she technically hasn’t won a fight in several years, she’s been fighting the absolute best of the best. Barber was riding a great streak, entered this co-main event slot as a legitimate contender, and Grasso responded by landing one of the division’s greatest knockouts ever.

At 32 years of age, Grasso remains a title threat.
