Paige Bueckers advocating for 2 UConn teammates during 2025 WNBA Draft actually paid off
Paige Bueckers wasn't the only member of UConn's women's NCAA tournament championship team selected during the 2025 WNBA Draft in New York on Monday night.
Teammates Kaitlyn Chen and Aubrey Griffin both joined WNBA teams in the draft's third round, Chen to the Golden State Valkyries and Griffin to the Minnesota Lynx.
What's awesome is that Bueckers actually advocated for Chen and Griffin specifically to get drafted during her interview with ESPN's Holly Rowe after being drafted herself by the Dallas Wings.
Both Chen and Griffin were in attendance for Monday's draft, and they both got their moments in the spotlight right after Bueckers advocated for them to have just that.
WHAT A MOMENT for former @UConnWBB PG 🥳
The audience erupts as Kaitlyn Chen hears her name called from the crowd

While that's most certainly not the main reason the former Huskies got drafted, it's such a cool turn of events that it all went down like this.
