Panthers bring back familiar face to practice squad on Wednesday

Safety Trevian Thomas is already back with the Carolina Panthers.

As announced on Wednesday, Thomas has signed on as a member of the team's practice squad. The rookie defender was waived from the active roster the day prior.

The Panthers initially signed Thomas in the spring, as an undrafted free agent out of Arkansas State University. He played in 61 games for the Red Wolves between 2020 and 2024—posting 257 combined tackles, eight interceptions, two forced fumbles and four fumble recoveries.

Thomas would appear in all three preseason games during the summer, and was later let go during Carolina's cutdown to their initial 53-man roster. He'd then sign back to the practice squad shortly after.

After signing on to their active roster on Sept. 30, Thomas went on to play 10 snaps on special teams in the Panthers' Week 5 win over the Miami Dolphins.
