Penn State edge rusher Abdul Carter reportedly only visiting these four teams
Penn State edge rusher Abdul Carter will visit the New England Patriots on a top-30 visit, according to NFL insider Albert Breer on Thursday.
This will be his final visit of four planned team visits before the 2025 NFL draft.
The other teams that Carter visited ahead of the Patriots are the Tennessee Titans, Cleveland Browns and New York Giants. All teams own one of the top-four picks in the draft.
Carter is coming off a 2024 season that saw him tally 68 tackles, 12 sacks, four pass deflections and two forced fumbles. He was one of the best players in college football last season, and an argument could be made that he's the best available player in the draft.
The Patriots are hosting Penn State DE Abdul Carter in Foxboro on a 30 visit on Monday, per sources. It's the last of his four scheduled 30 visits—his plan has been to ONLY take those four, with the four teams (Titans, Browns, Giants, Patriots) atop the draft.— Albert Breer (@AlbertBreer) April 10, 2025
The Patriots have done their homework on Carter throughout the pre-draft process.
They need a talented edge rusher to improve their pressure rate against opposing quarterbacks, and Carter is an elite talent capable of making an immediate impact on the field. Patriots fans are holding out hope that either Carter or Colorado receiver Travis Hunter falls to New England at No. 4.
With the Titans expected to draft Miami quarterback Cam Ward, it all comes down to what the Browns and Giants end up doing.
