They are joined in the rankings by fellow Big Ten teams Ohio State (Still No. 1 in both polls), Oregon (6th in AP, 5th in Coaches) Illinois (Up to 8th in Coaches, still 9th in the AP poll), Indiana (19th in AP, 17th in Coaches). and Michigan (Up to 21st in AP, 20th in Coaches). USC entered the AP poll at 25th, while Nebraska received votes in both polls.
The Nittany Lions have a bye week before facing the Ducks in primetime on September 27th.
